Kaitlyn McMorran is from Denver Colorado and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from the University of Colorado Boulder. She grew up dancing in both competitive studios and at Denver School of the Arts, training in a variety of dance styles including tap, modern, contemporary, ballet, and jazz.
At CU Boulder, Kaitlyn studied under renowned artists including Michelle Ellsworth, Erika Randall, Helanius J. Wilkins, and Rennie Harris. Her passion for technical production began there and expanded through an internship at summer dance festival The Yard on Martha’s Vineyard and the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World. She has since stage managed productions for artists across the country, including Helanius J. Wilkins at Dance Place in Washington, D.C., Olivia Dwyer Dance Projects at Gibney Dance Center in New York City, and Denver ballet company Wonderbound, where she served as Assistant Stage Manager for two seasons.
Kaitlyn has been teaching at Mountain Contemporary Dance Arts in Louisville since 2015 and is honored to now serve as the dance director, continuing to establish MCDA as Louisville’s home for pre-professional dance training. In addition to being a mom to two young kids, she is the artistic director of Colorado’s only nonprofit tap dance company Rocky Mountain Rhythm, dances professionally with Industrial Dance Alliance and Boulder Jazz Dance Collective, and co-produces events for the Colorado Tap Connection in collaboration with Common Ground Tap.
